How do I get the analog Video Signal from the Signature Camera into my Computer?

The Signature camera has two video signal outputs: Analog (via BNC to RCA cable), and SDI High Definition (via BNC to BNC SDI cable). Here I will describe how I obtain the analog video signal from the Signature Camera.

Equipment:

Technique:

  1. Install the USB Video input device (MCV-1)into your computer (if this is the first time installing this device, follow the instructions that came with it).
  2. Activate your Video Display (capture) software and choose the correct video driver (that matches the device from Step 1. (Such at x2828 for MCV-1). Also ensure that the source is set to the RCA end rather than the Svideo end of the device, if your input device has that option.
  3. Connect the BNC end of the cable to the CVBS OUT BNC connector located at the bottom right at the back of the Signature camera (see red arrow in picture above). Connect the RCA end of the video cable to the RCA end of your USB Video input device.
  4. Plug in the power to the Signature Camera
  5. The video Signal from the Signature should be displayed in the Video Display software’s window.

Oh No, Something is wrong Techniques:

If the SDV has been turned off by "accident", this will result in no video output because the SVBS depends on the digital information to be converted into analog.

First re-initiate the HDV (HD-SDI) output

With the Power Cable unplugged.

Press and hold the LEFT button key at the back of the Signature.

Connect power to the Signature.

At this point don`t expect to see a image, you won`t. Why? Because the SDV (CVBS composite) has been also turned off. To turn back on the SDV.

With the Power Cable unplugged.

Press and hold the DOWN button key at the back of the Signature.

Connect power to the Signature.
